Celebrating Mother’s Day
Welcome to our Mother’s Day pages! I am so glad to have you visit. Whether you are looking to build meaningful traditions with your family, find creative gift ideas, or just looking for some Mother’s Day humor, I hope you will be inspired here.
Mother’s Day is a time to celebrate one of the most important people in your life — your mom (your biological mom or someone who has been like-a-mom to you). Mother’s Day became a national holiday in the U.S. in 1914 when President Wilson issued a proclamation that the day be celebrated annually on the second Sunday in May. The establishment of the day is credited to Anna Jarvis who began campaigning for the day in honor of her mother who had died in 1905. You can learn more about the history in an interesting article by National Geographic.
As you celebrate Mother’s Day, my prayer is that our pages will help to make it more fun and meaningful. If you have any questions that are not answered on this site, or if you have suggestions for ways that we can improve, please contact us.
