Beef Brisket Recipe
The below recipe incorporates the Christmas color of red with a sweet red sauce. Visit our Christmas Symbols page to learn more about the symbolism and meaning of red at Christmas.
Ingredients:
3 to 3 1/2 pounds beef brisket (cut in half)
1 cup ketchup
1/2 cup grape jelly
1 envelope onion soup mix
1/2 teaspoon pepper
Directions:
1.Place half of the brisket in a crockpot.
2. In a bowl, combine the rest of ingredients and spread half of it over the meat.
3. Top with remaining meat and sauce.
4. Cover and cook on low for 8-10 hours or until meat is tender.
5. Remover the brisket, and pull it apart with two forks.
6. Serve with Tomato Zucchini Bake and Mashed Red Potatoes.
