Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes Recipe

This is a fun and creative recipe for Christmas. You can make your tree elegant for adult entertaining or let the kids decorate them for family parties!
Ice Cream Cone Cupcakes

Ingredients:

Cake Mix
Eggs (as directed on cake mix)
Oil (as directed on cake mix)
12 ice-cream cones
Canned frosting (white)
Food coloring (green)
Decorative sprinkles
Whipped Cream or Candles with Star on Top
Ice-Cream (vanilla)

Directions:

1. Prepare cake mix as directed on box.
2. Pour mix into cupcake pan.
3. Allow cake to cook for about 5 minutes, then place a cone on the top of each cupcake (pushing down all the way to the bottom of each cupcake.
4. Cook according to cake directions and cool.
5. Tint frosting green, and frost each cone. Decorate with sprinkles, and use whipped cream to create a star on top (hold tip of whipped cream bottle against the tree top and gently push down to create a star). Or, many stores carry candles with a star on top (in the baking section with birthday candles and cookie decorating items).
6. Allow ice-cream to soften, then place small spoonfuls around the bottom of the cupcake. Form to look like a mound of snow.
7. Use remaining cupcake batter and frosting to make regular cupcakes.

SHORTCUT: You can always skip the cake and just frost the cone.
