Peanut Bars Recipe

This is a delicious gooey peanut bar — it’s like a Payday candy bar in a dish!
Peanut Bars

Ingredients:

BARS
1/2 cup butter, softened
3/4 cup brown sugar
1-1/2 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon salt
3 cups salted peanuts

TOPPING
1 package butterscotch chips
1/2 cup light corn syrup
2 tablespoons butter
1 tablespoon water

Directions:

For bars: In a small mixing bowl, cream the butter and brown sugar. Add flour and salt, and mix well. Press into an ungreased baking pan. Bake at 350 degrees for approximately 12 minutes (or until lightly browned). Remove from oven, and sprinkle peanuts over entire crust.

For topping: While the bars are cooking, in a large saucepan, combine the topping ingredients. Bring to a boil, stirring regularly — stir for an additional 2 minutes after boiling. Spread over hot crust. Bake for approximately 12 more minutes (or until set). Cut into bars when cool.
