Valentine’s Day Bible Verse Countdown
My kids love countdowns . . . and scavenger hunts — so here is an idea that combines the two. To make it even better, I incorporated memorizing the “love passage” from 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 for this Valentine’s Day countdown!
Supplies:
Metallic Cookie Sheet
Frame Stand
Round Party Favor Containers (I found mine in the wedding section at Michael’s.)
Roll of Adhesive Magnetic Strips
Decorative Ribbon
Tacky Glue
14 treats (candy, school supplies, books, clothes, coins, etc.)
Free Printables: Numbers, Verses, Scavenger Hunt Clues 1-8, and Clues 9-14.

Update: I created some new numbers for 2015 (I wanted to add a few more graphics):
Directions:
1. Gather supplies and print all of the free printables (see image 1 below).
2. Use the top of one of the containers to trace around each number (see image 2). I didn’t leave enough room between the numbers on my first printable, so I had to print 2 sets of number sheets and trace the even numbers on one and the odd on another. I corrected this problem on the 2015 numbers printable.
3. Place a number in the inside lid of each container. I used a small piece of tape to secure to the side (see image 3).

4. Cut the verses out, and place them in order in each container.
5. Cut the clues out and write your hints down for each day (keep a copy for yourself, so you remember where to hide the treats. Place the clues in their respective container (see image 4).
6. Cut a 1″ magnetic strip and stick one on the back of each container.
7. Glue decorative ribbon to the cookie sheet, and set it on the frame stand. Place the containers on the cookie sheet.
8. Hide the treats, and have kids open the first container on Feb. 1. Before they can look for their treat, they have to say their verse for that day, as well as the verses from all the previous days. By February 14, the kids will have memorized 1 Corinthians 13:4-7!
You can hide anything you like. I usually go to a local store called Sprouts where I can buy candy by the pound. I just grab a little of each treat, wrap it with plastic wrap, and tie it with a bow. On Valentine’s Day, my kids get a little box of chocolate. Here is a picture of my treats:
