How to Make a Heart-Shaped Cake

Here are easy instructions for making a heart-shaped cake without a special pan — just use a square and a circle pan to form a heart. I love red velvet cake with cream cheese frosting, but you can use any flavor you like. I think I will double the layers next time I make this!

How to Make a Heart-Shaped Cake

Heart Cake
Heart Cake Frosted

Materials:

Square cake pan (8″ or 9″)

Circle cake pan (8″ or 9″)

Cake mix (Red Velvet is great!)

Eggs and Oil, according to cake mix directions

Frosting (Cream Cheese is great!)

Decorations, Valentine M&M’s or other

Directions:

1. Bake cake according to package directions — pouring half the mix in a square pan and the other half in a circle pan.

2. After the cakes have cooked and cooled, turn them onto a flat surface. Cut the circle in half and arrange the halves on the square to form a heart.

3. Frost and decorate the cake. Enjoy!
